Sodium Chloride is common salt. It is used to make partially saturated, or saturated salt drilling fluids. Salt can be mixed with water to obtain fluid weights to 10.0 ppg(195,000 Cl). Sodium Chloride is effective in inhibiting sensitive shale and clay, and when used to saturatation, will enable drillers to drill massive salt sections without dissolving them. It is also used as a source of salinity in the water phase of oil‐based drilling fluids.
97.5% pure sodium chloride which offers high quality and clean brine (when dissolve in the water) and helps reducing filtration steps. Hardness value is low, thus providing higher efficiency when used in the resin regeneration process because no calcium and magnesium ions will penetrate or enter into the softener system
