Put a made in Japan AA high capacity rechargeable battery like the Fujitsu in a Fujitsu spacer and you have a very good usable C size or D size NiMH LSD Rechargeable battery.

Easy to Install and Ready to Use Quickly and easily convert rechargeable AA batteries for use in “D” size battery applications. Simply insert a charged AA battery cell into the “D” size spacer. Once the AA cell is in inserted into the battery cell it is ready to be used in the device.

There are many D cell adapters that are simply a sleeve like the C cell spacer. Like the C spacer the negative terminal of the battery is used for contact and does not fit well with the spring causing it to loose contact.
